Abstract

En este artículo se propone un nuevo índice de heterogeneidad que compara dos vectores, uno de observación y otro el esperado. Un caso particular resulta cuando el vector esperado tiene las mismas entradas en todos sus elementos, entonces, el índice propuesto resulta ser de desigualdad. La construcción geométrica y analítica del índice propuesto le confiere robustez matemática, además de su amplia gama de aplicaciones en distintas disciplinas como economía, estadística y sociología. En este trabajo hemos aplicado el índice en tópicos como el reparto de bienes, el desarrollo humano y el salario mínimo, obteniéndose resultados bastantes satisfactorios.
