Abstract

Digestive duplication is a rare congenital malformation, primarily affecting the ileum. The esophagus ranks second in frequency, predominantly involving the lower thoracic segment, with cervical localization being exceptionally rare. We present a case of a 3-year-old child referred to our department for an etiological assessment of stridor and recurrent bronchitis resistant to treatment. Imaging studies including CT scan and endoscopy revealed a cervical esophageal duplication. The patient underwent a cervical approach with complete excision, and histopathological examination confirmed esophageal duplication. Postoperative recovery and follow-up were uneventful.
