Abstract

Deficiencies of electrolytes (hypokalemia and hypomagnesemia) are of clinical importance in hospitalized patients. Hypomagnesemia is often associated with hypokalemia and concomitant hypomagnesemia potentiates hypokalemia and makes it difficult to treat with potassium replacement alone.
