Abstract

In this work, the physical and mechanical properties of sustainable concretes elaborated based on substitution in different percentage of Coarse Aggregate (CA) by Recycled Aggregates (RA) are evaluated, as well as the substitution of 20% of Portland Cement by Suggar Cane Bagasse Ash (SCBA). The design of the concrete mixtures was in accordance with ACI 211.1 with a 28 days of curing stage. The tests of the concrete in fresh and hardened state were according to ONNCCE and ASTM standars. The compressive strength (F’c) were determined at 14, 28 and 90 days. The results show a decrease in compressive strength in sustainable concretes related to the interfacial transition zone (ITZ) between the old mortar stuck of the recycled aggregate with the new mortar of the mixtures and the presence of 20% of SCBA as a substitute for Portland Cement.
