Abstract

Developmental dental anomalies are disturbances in odontogenesis that may affect the number, size, structure, or morphology of teeth. Tooth shape anomalies are of particular clinical relevance because they may affect esthetics and may complicate treatment planning and clinical management. Therefore, accurate recognition is essential for diagnosis and treatment planning of these conditions. This narrative review summarizes the definitions, diagnostic features, clinical implications, and contemporary management of the common developmental anomalies of tooth shape.
