Uma ordem mundial em crise e transição: contemplando seu futuro

Abstract

O objetivo deste ensaio é analisar a ordem mundial que foi colocada em prática nofinal da Segunda Guerra Mundial e examinar como ela se desdobrou em termos de experiênciadesde então. Ele descreve os contornos amplos da mudança, que refletem mudanças noequilíbrio do poder econômico no mundo, analisa a evolução da ordem mundial atual desdeque surgiu, dividida em três fases, cada uma com um período de um quarto de século, e destacaalgumas manifestações importantes das múltiplas crises na ordem mundial existente, paradiscutir possíveis cenários futuros para 2050. Ao fazer isso, ele faz quatro perguntas. Estamostestemunhando o início de uma mudança transformadora na ordem mundial? Estamos à beirade uma ordem mundial bipolar emergente, com os Estados Unidos e a China como as duassuperpotências? Estamos caminhando para um mundo multipolar, no qual haverá outros 8 a10 países que também são atores-chave? Vamos viver com uma situação fluida e uma continuaçãode fato da Pax Americana? O resultado mais provável, conclui o ensaio, é que a ordemmundial existente, essencialmente a opção padrão, continuará. Classificação JEL: F52; F53; F54; F55; N0; N4.
