Power and conflict in macropolicy-making: a note on a political economy of an incomes policy

Author

Listed:
  • Gilberto Tadeu Lima

Abstract

It is presented a brief and tentative analysis of some political economy aspects of a tax-based incomes policy by building on some contributions from the political microeconomy and the political macroeconomy. Primary attention is paid to some political and institutional requirements to be met by such policies, while troublesome technical issues are dealt with only to the extent that they have a bearing on those requirements. JEL Classification: E64.
