Author

Abstract

This note studies the supply conditions and the demand behavior in the firstmonths of the Cruzado, Collor and Real plans. The main conclusion is that, independentlyupon the real interests, consumption presents a similar qualitatively pattern. Hence, as itseems unavoidable an increase in consumption in the first months, economic policy makersshould previously create supply conditions before the implementation of plans. In this pointof view, the Real Plan was the one which presented the best supply conditions relatively toCruzado and Collor plans. JEL Classification: E21; E31.
