Abstract

A visita de Dalai Lama a São Paulo, em abril de 2006, ensejou no fotógrafo holandês Henk Nieman a ideia de realizar uma peregrinação ao encontro do líder espiritual do Tibet. Traçando uma linha reta que partia de seu apartamento e culminava na Sé, local em que estava Dalai Lama, Henk iniciou sua caminhada pelas ruas da cidade capturando imagens cotidianas contrastadas com um fundo escuro que progressivamente tornava-se claro. O ensaio pode ser tomado como uma metáfora da fusão entre o sagrado e o profano, da miscigenação entre divino e mundano e também da espiritualidade como um caminho ao longo do qual objetos são religados
