Abstract

A região de Campinas, no interior do Estado de São Paulo, tornou-se um importante pólo de atração de empresas, as quais contribuem para o desenvolvimento econômico e social da região. Em geral, casos como esses são interpretados como fenômenos suscitados por incentivos fiscais e mão-de-obra barata. Este artigo, entretanto, aponta que a principal razão dessa atratividade tem a ver com a ampla eficiência logística observada na região, representada em especial pelo aeroporto de Viracopos.
