Abstract

O mercado acionário brasileiro cresceu expressivamente nos últimos anos. As razões para esse crescimento estão ligadas à progressiva melhoria das práticas de governança corporativa, melhorias no ambiente institucional interno do país e abundância de liquidez no mercado mundial. Contudo, o artigo mostra que, quando comparado ao crescimento de mercados acionários de outros países emergentes, o desempenho brasileiro é menor, sinalizando que há espaço para um crescimento mais agressivo.
