Abstract

Historicamente, nem sempre acadêmicos estiveram próximos e souberam entender as necessidades dos administradores. Por sua vez, nem sempre os administradores reconheceram ou utilizaram o conhecimento produzido nas escolas de negócios pelos acadêmicos. O artigo mostra como essa distância foi provocada pela incapacidade da área de gestão, sobretudo na tradição anglo-americana, para conciliar relevância prática com rigor acadêmico, bem como de conceber um modelo híbrido.
