Abstract

Um olhar para o passado mostra que o fenômeno da liderança entrou na ordem do dia da administração apenas no final do século passado. Por muito tempo, liderança era algo apenas observável na esfera pública, com seu réquiem de personalidades carismáticas e influentes. No domínio das empresas, a figura correspondente era o administrador sério e racional. Com o tempo, administrador e líder se separaram. Mas na atualidade, ambos estão sendo novamente integrados em prol do desempenho.
