Abstract

O mundo desenvolvido parece estar entrando em uma nova fase das tecnologias de identifi cação. Trata-se agora das identifi cações biométricas, baseadas na coleta de informações altamente singulares dos indivíduos, como sua íris ou impressão digital. O artigo analisa a expansão recente desse novo mercado e mostra como ele está infl uenciando os padrões de relacionamento de diversas empresas de serviços com seus clientes, como bancos e supermercados.
