Abstract

O modo como os Estados Unidos e seus dirigentes vêm conduzindo suas políticas interna e principalmente externa é motivo de críticas ao redor do mundo. As ondas antiamericanas representam desde nichos reacionários que defendem bandeiras antiimperialistas e antiglobalização até terroristas fanáticos. Paul Krugman, polêmico economista norte-americano, encaminha a crítica em um veio liberal, mas não menos pesado. O artigo analisa algumas de suas idéias sobre o declínio do império norte-americano e suas conseqüências.
