Abstract

Quando se observa a distribuição do gênero entre cargos de direção, o pêndulo oscila a favor dos homens. Interpretações sobre esse fato destacam a existência de injustiças no mercado de trabalho quanto ao reconhecimento do valor e competência das mulheres. Entretanto, a diferença pode ser melhor explicada analisando-se as características de uma carreira considerada bem-sucedida hoje e o modo como entram em choque com a condição das mulheres, principalmente com a maternidade.
