Abstract

O volume de operações registrado recentemente no âmbito do comércio eletrônico atesta que a Internet ainda não chegou às suas últimas fronteiras. Vencidas as barreiras tecnológicas que ainda restam e os hábitos de consumo associados a canais físicos, as perspectivas são notoriamente promissoras. E essa constatação vale tanto para o mundo como para o Brasil. Faz-se aqui um balanço geral desse mercado e apontam-se os novos desafios que as empresas varejistas, que pretendem ampliar suas estratégias no mundo eletrônico, devem obrigatoriamente superar para manterem-se no páreo.
