Abstract

Os escândalos financeiros envolvendo grandes corporações trouxeram para o primeiro plano a necessidade de maior vigilância sobre o comportamento de empresas e de seus principais executivos. Para coibir o surgimento de novas fraudes, instrumentos de controle vêm sendo utilizados por empresas e governos. Este artigo mostra que tais instrumentos desempenham um papel importante, mas são incapazes de oferecer soluções perfeitas e definitivas contra o surgimento de novas fraudes.
