Abstract

A pobreza e a desigualdade social na América Latina é um tema de preocupação crescente entre gestores sociais, dirigentes de empresas e instituições sensíveis às suas nefastas conseqüências. Em geral é apontado que uma das soluções para o problema é a combinação de desenvolvimento econômico com desenvolvimento social. O artigo a seguir é a reprodução de uma coletânea de textos patrocinada pelo Banco Interamericano de Desenvolvimento que discute a necessidade da criação de uma agenda social e econômica ampla focada no problema da inclusão.
