Abstract

José Carlos G. Durand é sociólogo e professor da FGV-EAESP, instituição na qual coordena o Centro de Estudos de Cultura e Consumo. Nesta entrevista concedida à GV-executivo, o especialista discute mudanças de longo prazo, que vêm afetando as artes e os negócios e enfraquecendo a fronteira entre esses dois mundos. A partir de estudos de hábitos culturais e análises socioeconômicas do mundo artístico, Durand analisa a “mercantilização” da cultura e suas conseqüências, tanto para artistas quanto para o público.
