Abstract
Objective: To present a data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) maturity model, identifying barriers, best practices, and action plans to overcome them. State of the art: The literature highlights the need for analytical maturity for organizations to fully benefit from AI. However, there is a lack of a practical approach that connects theoretical models with leadership and effective AI adoption. Methodology: A particular case study was conducted in a multisector holding company, involving twenty-eight semi-structured interviews with executives and managers engaged in data and AI initiatives. Originality: An original, prescriptive, and practice-oriented model was developed, linking analytical maturity with leadership. Impacts: The study contributes to more effective organizational strategies, supported by efficient governance and structured data management. SDG: 8 – Decent work and economic growth; 9 – Industry, innovation, and infrastructure.
