Abstract

A maior parte das grandes empresas brasileiras engatinha nos mercados globais. Mais de um quarto delas atua apenas no mercado interno; mais da metade compete em outros países apenas com exportações – fase que envolve menor comprometimento de recursos e está sujeita a menores riscos. O “custo Brasil” e o tamanho do mercado interno são apontados como as principais barreiras à internacionalização. Esses dados constam de uma pesquisa realizada com apoio da Fundação Dom Cabral, de Minas Gerais. A seguir, discutimos os resultados – por vezes surpreendentes – dessa investigação.
