Abstract

Após a crise financeira de 1998, a Coréia do Sul promove ampla reestruturação de sua política econômica e de seus conglomerados, os chaebols. Retorna às elevadas taxas de crescimento do PIB e salda antecipadamente suas dívidas com o Fundo Monetário Internacional. A experiência sul-coreana prova que existem oportunidades de expansão mesmo em situações de crise e contribui para a discussão sobre o papel do nacional e do global na internacionalização da economia. Para o Brasil, esse caminho pode representar um exemplo e um desafio.
