Abstract

Trabalhar em grandes empresas ou empreender? A dúvida, comum entre muitos estudantes quando terminam a faculdade, também ficou martelando a cabeça de Dennis Wang. Graduado em Administração Pública pela Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo, da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EAESP), em 2005, ele conseguiu resolver o dilema fazendo ambos. Depois de ganhar experiência nos bancos ABN Amro, BNP Paribas e Merrill Lynch, entrou no mundo das startups, ocupando posições como co-chief executive officer (coCEO) da Easy Taxi, vice-presidente de operações do Nubank, entre outras.Foi num primeiro período sabático que conseguiu fazer essa transição de grandes instituições financeiras para o mundo do empreendedorismo. “Tive que tomar esse risco para mudar”, diz. Agora, Dennis entra em um segundo intervalo na carreira, o que, para ele, é uma oportunidade de se autoconhecer e estar mais atento às oportunidades. Nesta entrevista à GV-executivo, o ex-aluno da EAESP fala sobre as mudanças na carreira e como vê as startups de tecnologia hoje.
