Ruas divididas? Protestos sobre medidas restritivas no Brasil pandêmico

Abstract

O artigo analisa protestos no Brasil entre março de 2020 e maio de 2021, focando nos eventos sobre medidas restritivas durante a pandemia de Covid-19. Utilizando dados do projeto La Protesta pandemia, o estudo busca compreender a mobilização dos diferentes grupos, além de investigar suas formas de atuação. A análise revela um número maior de protestos noticiados contra as medidas restritivas, impulsionados por grupos que negavam a gravidade da pandemia e priorizavam interesses econômicos. A mídia, por sua vez, demonstrou uma tendência a priorizar a cobertura de protestos presenciais, majoritariamente anti-restritivos, em detrimento do ativismo digital, mais comum entre os grupos pró-restritivos. O texto aponta que os protestos contra as medidas restritivas se intensificaram nos períodos de maior gravidade da pandemia, impulsionados pela insatisfação com os governos estaduais e municipais.
