Integrated assessment of the sustainable agricultural development: a regional aspect

Abstract

The author has made an integrated assessment of sustainable agricultural development in the regions of Ukraine and grouped based on an improved methodological approach and the existing system of indicators. By the criterion of sustainable agriculture, the leading regions are Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions characterized by a balance of economic, social and environmental components, including moderate arable rate and predominant orientation local food needs of the region. The proposed methodological approach can be used to make informed management decisions and in elaborating strategies for agricultural development in the regions.
