Abstract
Attitudes towards women in managerial positions have been broadly studied. The purpose of this research was to explore whether there were significant differences between attitudes towards women occupying managerial positions between a sample of university students in relation to their gender and employment status. The research sample consisted of 109 subjects of both genders, belonging to a Faculty of Business Administration from a public university in Puerto Rico. The results showed that in the sample under study there were no significant differences either by gender or by employment status. However, by conducting an analysis of each of the factors measuring the instrument, significant differences were found by gender in the instrument's Factor III.; Las actitudes hacia las mujeres en posiciones de dirección han sido ampliamente estudiadas. La presente investigación tuvo como fin explorar si existían diferencias significativas entre las actitudes hacia las mujeres ocupando posiciones de dirección en una muestra de estudiantes universitarios en relación con su género y situación laboral. La muestra consistió en 109 sujetos de ambos sexos pertenecientes a una Facultad de Empresas de una universidad pública en Puerto Rico. Los resultados demostraron que no hubo diferencias significativas ni por género, ni por situación laboral. Al llevar a cabo un análisis de cada uno de los factores que mide el instrumento se encontraron diferencias significativas por género, en el Factor III, relacionado con los rasgos personales atribuibles al rol gerencial.
