Introduction to the institute timeshare in focus of economic analysis of law

Abstract

Timeshare is now an industry. It is a 50 years old tourism institute. Timeshare has been studying more and more economically over the years as a management and hospitality institute. However, as a kind of legal relationship of contract, it was necessary to regulate it in the area of law also. Te aim of this paper is to show the legal framework of the institute through an economic prism i.e. as part of a new legal branch – Economic analysis of law. Some of the felds through timeshare can be compared are contracts, property, a right of future use, theory of a frm and scarcity. In this paper, the author will link this law institute with the economic world and theory. Te author will also show information’s about timeshare like defnition, history and types of timeshare. When speaking about the legal framework the institute will be defned through the comparative analysis of Croatia, Slovenian, Spain and the EU legal framework. Also, the author will analyse the importance of consumer protection.
