Abstract

The innovation of we-media platform business models has presented key features such as the dynamics and non-linearity of the complex system, but the existing research has mainly focused on the platform-type enterprises with case studies, with fewer quantitative analyses, and the lack of a general method to reveal the mechanism of the internal operation of we-media platform business models. To this end, based on network effect theory and value co-creation theory, this study divides the complex system of value co-creation of digital technology capability-driven we-media platform business model into four interdependent subsystems. This study not only contributes to the deepening of network effect theory and value co-creation theory in the field of we-media platform business model research, but also deepens the understanding of value co-creation in platforms through a holistic and systematic approach, providing a comprehensive framework for implementing value co-creation in business models driven by digital technology capabilities.
