Sample size formula for randomized controlled trials with counts of recurrent events

Abstract

This paper proposes a simple sample size formula for randomized controlled trials in which the endpoint is the count of recurrent events, the baseline count is available and the occurrence of events is assumed to follow a Poisson process.
