Abstract

Estimators for the mean life [theta] of an item whose life length is assumed to be exponentially distributed are considered. The nature of the life test is such that the failure can only be detected at inspection times t1[less-than-or-equals, slant]t2[less-than-or-equals, slant] ... [less-than-or-equals, slant]tm. The inspection destructive, i.e., the items inspected at time ti are withdrawn from the test regardless of the inspection result.
