Can party organization building promote common prosperity within Enterprises? Mechanism analysis of labor force allocation efficiency

Abstract

This paper focuses on the core issue of how Party organization building influences internal common prosperity within enterprises through labor allocation efficiency. Using a sample of Chinese non-financial listed companies from 2011 to 2023, the study employs a combination of double fixed effects models, mediation effect models, and moderation effect analyses for empirical investigation. The findings reveal that the strengthening of Party organization building significantly promotes internal common prosperity within enterprises. Meanwhile, labor allocation efficiency serves as a mediating factor between Party organization building and internal common prosperity, with this mediating effect showing significant variation across enterprises with different levels of ownership concentration. Furthermore, the degree of industry competition positively moderates the relationship between Party organization building and internal common prosperity, whereas the level of enterprise digitalization exerts a negative moderating effect. The conclusions of this study hold important theoretical and practical implications for understanding the mechanism of Party organization building in enterprise development and for promoting internal common prosperity through optimizing labor allocation and regulating industry competition and digitalization levels.
