Abstract

Using Chinese A-share listed companies during 2010–2023, this study examines how platform transformation impacts firm value and the moderating effect of platform antitrust regulation. A quantitative indicator of platform transformation is developed through textual analysis of annual reports, with empirical tests using fixed-effects, mediating, and moderating-effect models. Results show that platform transformation significantly enhances firm value, in part through increased business complexity and strategic uniqueness. Further analysis reveals that platform antitrust regulation positively moderates this relationship by restraining monopolistic behavior and guiding the creation of compliant value.
