Digital media supervision, CEO green experience, and corporate digital transformation

Abstract

This paper uses the sample of China's A-share listed companies from 2014 to 2023 to study the impact of digital media supervision and CEO green experience on enterprise digital transformation (EDT) and their underlying mechanisms. The study finds that digital media supervision can promote EDT. Moderation effect analysis shows that CEO green experience significantly moderates the influence of digital media supervision on EDT. Heterogeneity analysis indicates that the impact of digital media supervision on EDT demonstrates heterogeneity between high-tech and non-high-tech enterprises; the impact also varies between heavily polluting enterprises and non-heavily polluting enterprises; and likewise between enterprises with high financing constraints and those with low financing constraints.
