Abstract

In the context of high-quality economic development, this study investigates the impact of technological diversity on corporate sustainable development performance using 2013–2023 A-share listed company data from China. Results highlight that technological diversity significantly enhances sustainable performance, a finding robust across multiple tests. It also promotes sustainable development indirectly by advancing digital finance, which improves external financing and resource allocation. The effect is stronger in China’s eastern regions, technology-intensive industries, and lower-performing firms. These findings validate the strategic value of technological diversity and offer policymakers insights for promoting enterprise green transition through customized technology and financial ecosystem measures.
