Abstract

This manuscript examines the impact of digital inclusive finance on inclusive development using empirical evidence from China. Employing two-way fixed effects and mediation models with provincial panel data from 2012 to 2022, the analysis demonstrates that digital inclusive finance significantly promotes inclusive development. The mechanism analysis reveals that it advances inclusive development by expanding rural e-commerce, narrowing urban–rural consumption disparities, and broadening employment channels. Moreover, heterogeneity analysis indicates that these effects are more pronounced in regions characterized by higher income inequality and larger government presence. These findings provide both theoretical insights and practical guidance for leveraging digital finance to advance equitable and sustainable development globally. Policy recommendations emphasize differentiated promotion strategies tailored to regional characteristics and coordinated strengthening of intermediary transmission mechanisms.
