Abstract

This study uses provincial panel data from 2001–2023 across 31 Chinese provinces to analyze how rural social capital influences farmers' entrepreneurial activities and the mediating role of digital inclusive finance in this relationship. The findings suggest that rural social capital significantly fosters entrepreneurial behavior among farmers. Furthermore, digital inclusive finance serves as a partial mediator, enhancing the effect of social capital by facilitating access to financial resources. The impact varies based on the level of regional economic development and the type of entrepreneurship. The study also addresses the challenges of financing in rural areas, offering policy recommendations for fostering rural entrepreneurship through targeted financial and social support.
