The impact of CEO cognitive style on the speed of enterprise digital transformation

Abstract

This study explores how different CEO cognitive styles influence the speed of enterprise digital transformation, further examines the external and internal boundary conditions. The results show that the CEO’s analytical cognitive style slows down the digital transformation speed, whereas the intuitive cognitive style significantly accelerates it. The moderation analysis reveals that, externally, technological dynamism strengthens the effects of both cognitive styles. Internally, the TMT’s digital background weakens the negative effect of analytical cognitive style while enhancing the positive effect of intuitive cognitive style.
