Employee digital competence, financial technology, and enhancement of employee performance in enterprises

Abstract

This paper analyzes the impact of employee digital competence and financial technology on employee performance in enterprises using data from China's A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2023, employing a fixed effects model. Empirical results show that employee digital competence significantly enhances employee performance in enterprises; financial technology effectively improves enterprise employee performance; financial technology plays a mediating role in the relationship between employee digital competence and enterprise employee performance; the effect of employee digital competence on enterprise employee performance exhibits heterogeneity between high-tech and non-high-tech enterprises; the impact of financial technology on enterprise employee performance also shows heterogeneity between high-tech and non-high-tech enterprises.
