Abstract

Digital inclusive finance has become a new path to overcome the financing difficulties in rural industrial integration. Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2021, this paper analyzed the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of digital inclusive finance and the integration of agriculture, culture and tourism. Furthermore, a dual machine learning model was applied to systematically analyze the driving mechanisms through which digital inclusive finance influences the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism. The study found that: (1)The integration of agriculture, culture and tourism showed a fluctuating upward trend, with pilot areas always outperforming non-pilot areas, and main grain-producing areas outperforming non-main grain-producing areas. A significant number of low-level provinces moved up to the high-level tier, and the regional gap in integration of agriculture, culture and tourism was narrowing; (2) Digital inclusive finance has a significant positive driving effect on the integration of agriculture, culture and tourism. The conclusion remains across various robustness tests. Rural fixed asset investment, rural enterprise development and digital technology advancement are important transmission paths; (3) The driving effect of digital inclusive finance on the integration of agriculture, culture and tourism shows significant heterogeneity, mainly influenced by factors such as regional economic development level, policy type, functional zoning, human capital, and the scale of integration of agriculture, culture and tourism.
