Dynamic complexity analysis of omnichannel competitive strategies for heterogeneous consumers' multiple interactive behaviors

Abstract

To address the imperative of seamlessly integrating online and offline channels while accommodating the heterogeneous demands of consumers, this study rigorously examines the pricing strategies employed by manufacturers within an omnichannel competitive framework. By focusing on the complex interactive behavioral patterns of diverse consumer segments, a duopoly game model is constructed to analyze the implications of consumer heterogeneity and multiplicative behavioral interactions on manufacturers' strategic decisions. Particular emphasis is placed on elucidating the intricate dynamics of manufacturers' decision-making processes in an environment characterized by temporal volatility and competitive flux. Empirical findings reveal several critical insights: manufacturer pricing exhibits a positive correlation with the intensity of market competition, whereas it demonstrates an inverse relationship with cross-selling revenues and exchange-related profits. Furthermore, an excessive velocity in the adjustment of pricing strategies can precipitate market instability, potentially culminating in chaotic conditions and the exit of rival firms. Notably, diminished time sensitivity parameter values signify a consumer base predominantly composed of individuals who prioritize temporal efficiency and value, thereby exhibiting a heightened willingness to incur premium costs to mitigate time-related inconveniences. Conversely, attenuated distance sensitivity parameter values highlight a market segment wherein consumers display pronounced price responsiveness and exhibit reluctance toward elevated price points. This research achieves a dual optimization of profit margins and consumer satisfaction, thereby furnishing both theoretical underpinnings and practical implications for the strategic evolution of omnichannel manufacturers. The study underscores the necessity of adaptive pricing mechanisms that account for the nuanced interplay between consumer heterogeneity and competitive dynamics, ultimately fostering sustainable market equilibrium and enhanced consumer welfare.
