Abstract

We focus on the intricate dynamics of nonautonomous molecules and higher-order rogue waves in the variable coefficient derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation, a pivotal equation that characterizes the propagation of Alfvén waves in plasma physics. In contrast to the previous velocity resonance mechanism, we rely on the characteristic line technique to present the synthesis conditions for nonautonomous breather molecules and explore their dynamics under different management modes. Furthermore, we analyze the distance variations between two breather units in the breather molecule. Finally, we degenerate the second-order breather solution into a rational solution and investigate the dynamics of higher-order nonautonomous rogue waves under periodic and exponential management.
