Abstract

This paper presents fitted Runge-Kutta-type Adams-Bashforth-Moulton methods for solving point reactor kinetics equations characterized by oscillatory reactivity. The point reactor kinetics equations are crucial for modeling neutron populations and delayed neutron precursors in nuclear reactors, particularly during transient behaviors. We introduce a novel fitting approach to enhance the accuracy of the classical Runge-Kutta-type Adams-Bashforth-Moulton methods, with a focus on the phase lag and amplification factor associated with oscillatory reactivity.
