Migración y género: factores de vulnerabilidad de las mujeres migrantes venezolanas en Colombia

Abstract

La migración de personas venezolanas a Colombia es un tipo de migración forzada (Louidor, 2018). A las dificultades que experimentan quienes llegan a Colombia en condición de migrantes procedentes de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela se suman las vulnerabilidades derivadas de las desigualdades de género. A fin de definir dichas vulnerabilidades, en este artículo se revisan fuentes de información cuantitativa sobre las condiciones de vida de las mujeres migrantes venezolanas en Colombia. Entre las vulnerabilidades específicas de este grupo poblacional se encuentran las económicas, incluido el desempeño de trabajos asociados a la informalidad, mal pagados y poco valorados socialmente; las educativas, por los bajos niveles de formación que constituyen barreras de acceso a otros derechos; las de salud, como las barreras para el acceso a tratamientos médicos y la alta demanda de servicios relacionados con la salud sexual y reproductiva, y una elevada prevalencia de violencias por razón de género. En conjunto, las vulnerabilidades representan un problema público que requiere atención diferencial.
