Egresos hospitalarios de nacionales y migrantes internacionales asentados y emergentes en Chile antes de la pandemia (2015-2019)

Abstract

Se compararon los egresos hospitalarios en Chile de nacionales y migrantes internacionales (asentados, emergentes y otros) de 2015 a 2019. Para ello, se analizaron datos de egresos anuales, de nacidos en Chile y extranjeros, identificando el diagnóstico al momento del egreso, según la Clasificación Estadística Internacional de Enfermedades (CIE-10) y describiendo características clínicas y sociodemográficas. Dicho análisis permitió observar un aumento progresivo de los egresos de migrantes internacionales, que presentaron una tasa de 31,97 por 1.000 habitantes en 2019, frente a 87,47 en el caso de los chilenos. El embarazo, parto y puerperio fue la principal condición asociada al egreso (entre el 52% y el 53% de los egresos de migrantes y entre el 15% y el 19% de los egresos de chilenos). Fueron evidentes los patrones distintivos de causas de egreso entre migrantes y nacionales, destacándose la concentración de egresos por embarazo, parto y puerperio entre los migrantes emergentes y de edades más jóvenes. Estos hallazgos sirven como línea de base para futuros estudios y proporcionan información estructural sobre las causas de egresos hospitalarios en Chile, diferenciando entre nacionales y migrantes internacionales.
