Características sociodemográficas y de salud de los mexicanos y los migrantes con enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19) en México

Abstract

En este artículo se comparan las características sociodemográficas y de salud de mexicanos y migrantes con COVID-19 atendidos en unidades médicas en México. Se realizó un estudio comparativo de corte transversal y descriptivo a partir de datos oficiales de la Secretaría de Salud Federal de México a través del Sistema de Vigilancia Epidemiológica de Enfermedad Respiratoria Viral (SISVER), con información de 475 unidades de monitoreo de los sectores público y privado de la salud. El período de referencia fue el comprendido entre el 21 de febrero de 2020 y el 28 de febrero de 2021. Se vio que fueron más los casos diagnosticados en hombres mexicanos y migrantes, que la población nacida en otros países es más joven y que sobresalen las nacionalidades estadounidense, venezolana y colombiana. Se encontró una mayor concentración de muertes en hombres en general y una mayor comorbilidad en la población mexicana respecto de la migrante.
