Migración y vulnerabilidad: efectos del COVID-19 en la inserción laboral de los inmigrantes internacionales en el Brasil en 2020

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar los efectos de la pandemia de enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19) en la inserción laboral de la comunidad de inmigrantes, teniendo en cuenta el sexo. Para ello se dividió a los inmigrantes en tres grupos, según la nacionalidad: venezolanos, haitianos y el grupo formado por los inmigrantes de otras nacionalidades. La tasa de ocupación más alta antes de la pandemia correspondía a los venezolanos, seguidos por los inmigrantes de otras nacionalidades y los haitianos. En todos los casos, la tasa de ocupación era más alta entre los hombres que entre las mujeres. Tras el comienzo de la crisis sanitaria, los venezolanos fueron los más afectados por la pérdida de empleo, seguidos por los haitianos y los inmigrantes de otras nacionalidades. En general, las mujeres y las personas sin trabajo formal presentaron las mayores tasas de pérdida de empleo durante la pandemia.
