Migrantes venezolanos frente a la pandemia de COVID-19 en Chile: factores asociados a la percepción de sentirse preparado para enfrentarla

Abstract

Sobre la base de una encuesta digital a migrantes internacionales en Chile (1.690 participantes, un 60% de ellos venezolanos), se analizan algunos factores asociados a sentirse preparado ante la enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19) entre la población venezolana en ese país. Se estudia la asociación entre dicha percepción y las variables de sexo, nivel educacional, tiempo de estadía en Chile, tipo de previsión de salud, síntomas de ansiedad o depresión debido a la pandemia, cumplimiento del confinamiento y evaluación subjetiva de la calidad de la información proporcionada por autoridades y equipos de salud. El 60% de los participantes venezolanos informaron no sentirse preparados para enfrentar la pandemia. Dicha preparación se asoció positivamente con ser hombre (cociente de probabilidades (OR) = 1,6), haber cumplido la cuarentena (OR = 1,6) y evaluar favorablemente la información recibida (OR = 2,9). Quienes indicaron haber tenido síntomas ansiosos o depresivos en la última semana tendían a sentirse menos preparados (OR = 0,5).
