Trabajo productivo no remunerado y dividendo de género en El Salvador

Abstract

Se utilizan las Cuentas Nacionales de Transferencias (CNT) y las Cuentas Nacionales de Transferencias de Tiempo (CNTT) para evidenciar la contribución del trabajo productivo no remunerado a la economía y su relación con el dividendo de género. En las CNT no se registra el trabajo doméstico no remunerado ni el trabajo de cuidado, por lo que se subestiman los aportes realizados a la economía por las mujeres, quienes en su mayoría desempeñan estas labores. Con las CNTT se estiman la producción, el consumo y la transferencia de tiempo del trabajo productivo no remunerado y el trabajo de cuidado. Se estima un escenario hipotético del dividendo de género que se obtendría de un Incremento de la participación de las mujeres en el mercado laboral, que permitiría a El Salvador aprovechar mejor el dividendo demográfico. Se sugiere que deberían encontrarse mecanismos para suplir la demanda de cuidados resultante de este escenario.
