Medición del déficit y de la demanda habitacional a partir de los censos del Brasil

Abstract

La estimación oficial del déficit de vivienda en los distintos países de América Latina es muy variada. Aunque todas las estimaciones se basan en la información de los censos de vivienda, el tipo de información utilizada para determinar el déficit cuantitativo y cualitativo varía según la información disponible. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar y discutir las cuestiones relativas al cálculo del déficit habitacional utilizado en el Brasil, de acuerdo con la metodología propuesta por la Fundación João Pinheiro y una metodología de cálculo de la demanda habitacional demográfica desarrollada en conjunto con la Caixa Econômica Federal del Brasil, a partir de la utilización de los datos de los censos demográficos (y encuestas de hogares).
